Funeral Officiant
I am a chaplain. I plan, write and lead funerals, memorials, graveside services and celebrations of life. I also write eulogies.
What does a funeral officiant do?
A funeral officiant plans the service with the family, writes it and leads it. I meet with you to plan the service. I write it, help shape the family's remarks and lead the committal.
I charge a fee because I serve families who do not have a congregation or a pastor of their own: I meet with you to plan the service, I write it, and I lead it.
I lead the service. I do not make burial or cremation arrangements; your funeral home does that. I work alongside your funeral home. When a veteran is honored, I coordinate with the honor guard on the order of service.
A funeral or memorial starts at $350. A graveside service is $225. Eulogy writing on its own is $250.
Call or text with the date, the location and the name of the person being honored. I will meet with you to plan the service.
